　　海南外国语职业学院不是一本也不是二本院校，而是海南省的一所专科学校。

海南外国语职业学院位于我国首个滨海卫星发射场——文昌市，始建于1947年，是经海南省政府批准并报教育部备案的公办全日制外语类高等职业院校，也是海南省外语语言最多、外语专业最齐全的高校。 2012年成为全省第二所省市共建大学，2018年成为海南省教育厅批准建设的省级优质大学。

学院规划用地650多亩，教学条件优越。拥有50多个校内培训室，在全国各地建立了30多个校外实习培训基地，设有国家职业教育研究院海南分院、海南省社会科普示范基地——东盟语言与文化推广示范基地、国家开放大学(海南)文昌分校、海南省英语日语应用研究会、海南省应用外语研究基地等机构。

学院坚持以质量求发展，竭诚为提高人才培养质量，海南自由贸易港建设服务。长期以来，学院学生在各级各类翻译、演讲、技能、文体等大赛中多次取得好成绩。五年来，共获得国家级奖励60多项(其中全国特等奖2项、一等奖4项)和省级奖励300多项。学生积极参加北京奥运会、上海世博会、博鳌亚洲论坛年会等各类国际盛会志愿者活动，得到了社会各界的广泛赞誉。
